Q: I have been trying to locate a live bay leaf plant and have been unsuccessful. My plant died this winter and I have been trying to replace it. R. Foley, Roswell
A: Among my favorite herbs, bay laurel is easy to grow and deliciously fragrant when added to myriad dishes. I found bay laurel plants in 3-gallon pots for $30 at Scottsdale Farms Nursery, 15639 Birmingham Highway, Alpharetta, 770-777-5875.

Q: Since we moved to the Atlanta area a few months ago, I have been unable to find canned mangos from Mexico. I did find canned mangos from India, but they have a different taste and consistency. In our prior home in Washington state, we found them in Mexican grocery stores, but our search here has been unsuccessful. Thank you for your help. Terry Shepp, e-mail
A: I found two brands of canned sliced mango in syrup, and both are products of Mexico. You have a choice of San Marcos brand that sells for $4.49 for 26 ounces and Herdez brand priced at $3.69 for 28 ounces. They're located on aisle 5 in the American/Hispanic section of Buford Highway Farmers Market, 5600 Buford Highway, Doraville, 770-455-0770. ‎

Q: Dr. Oz mentioned recently that one of the most beneficial fruits were wild blueberries and that most likely they could only be found as a frozen food item. I have looked in all of my regular food stores, but they don't carry this item. Many thanks for your time and efforts. Marie Fievet, Kennesaw
A: Marie, you can get all of the antioxidant-loaded wild blueberries you like with a visit to Whole Foods Market, 70 Powers Ferry Road, Marietta, 770-578-4400. Here, you'll find 12-ounce bags of Wyman's wild frozen blueberries for $4.69.

Q: I often use kitchen twine in my cooking. I recently heard about a product called Food Loop that is resusable. I can't seem to find this, can you? Thank you. Frieda Johnson, Atlanta
A: This clever item is made of heat-resistant silicone. The Food Loop is food safe and can be used instead of twine and toothpicks to keep various foods intact during cooking. You can use the loops in the oven as well as on top of the stove. Four fuchsia loops are included in each pack, and each loop adjusts up to 4 inches more if you loop them together. You can check out a video on the product at www.thefoodloop.com. Locally, you can pick up a pack for $10.69 at DeKalb Farmers Market, 3000 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur, 404-377-6400. They're located in the housewares section near the plants and flowers.
