Q: Some 15 to 20 years ago, you could purchase Clairol steam curlers, as well as other brands. They were the best. Nothing today compares to them. Do you know if they are still manufactured and, if so, where they can be obtained? Thanks for your attention to the request. I am really missing them! — Vicki Chamblee, Smyrna

A: The only Clairol steam rollers I could find are on eBay. However, I did locate Caruso brand steam rollers and those are available at a couple of stores near you. Sally Beauty Supply, 4480 S. Cobb Drive, Smyrna, 770-863-9657, stocks Caruso steam curlers for $42.99, and Ulta, 2540 Cumberland Blvd., Smyrna, 770-432-4775, sells Caruso rollers for $44.99. Both sets contain 30 steam curlers.

Q: I hope that you can tell me where to find hickory salt. I like to add it to ground meat because it makes very tasty hamburgers, but I can't find it any more. I live in Peachtree City, but I'll go anywhere in the metro Atlanta area to buy it. Karen Hunt, e-mail

A: Karen, I've got a couple of options for you. Williams-Sonoma at Lenox Square mall stocks its own brand of hickory salt in 3.5-ounce packages and sells the savory seasoning for $7.95. However, I'm very familiar with a low-sodium product called J and D's. The company makes the Original Bacon Salt and a more potent hickory version. They come in 2-ounce shakers and sell for $3.79 at Kroger, 48 Bullsboro Drive, Newnan, 770-251-4791.

Q: I have a recipe for Cherry Mash cookies that requires cherry-flavored chips similar to chocolate chips. I've looked everywhere and haven't had any luck finding these. I wonder if they're only available during the holidays. Can you please help me with this request? Thank you. Nancy Allen, Atlanta

A: I found 10-ounce bags of Log House brand cherry baking morsels, but they were easy to miss because they weren't with the chocolate chips. You'll find the red bags for $1 each on grocery aisle 6 on the top shelf next to the spices at Walmart Supercenter, 1871 Chamblee Tucker Road, Chamblee, 770-455-0422.

Q: Please help me track down whole wheat linguine by DeCecco. I have the hardest time finding this on a regular basis. It's our family's favorite. Betsy Stedman, Atlanta

A: You'll find plenty of 16-ounce boxes of DeCecco whole wheat linguine in the pasta section at Whole Foods, 2111 Briarcliff Road, Atlanta, 404-634-7800. Each box sells for $3.69.
