Here’s how to wear leggings the right way
As colder weather approaches, men and women everywhere are breaking out their heavier jackets, coats, boots and pants.
According to one sassy Tennessee woman, that means, “it’s pretty much leggin’ weather.”
But, says the woman, we must remember that “leggings ain’t pants.”
In a viral video that has received over 12 million views on Facebook, Jamie Higdon Randolph supports leggings as a fashion trend but urges women to wear leggings the “right” way.
“I love leggin’ weather. I don’t care if you don’t like leggings. Don’t judge me. They are comfortable” she says.
Randolph lists reasons why the garment is perfect for fall and winter and also suggests ways to dress leggings up and down.
“You can look like a frat girl, or you can look pretty classy in them depending on what you choose to pair with them,” she says in a southern drawl.
Randolph talks to her audience while in a car on the way to purchase a new pair of leggings after misplacing hers.
“This is why I’m making this video,” she says. “Some of you people like to use leggings as britches – pants, pants. That ain’t how they’re ‘posed to be wore.”
Tattoos and undergarments should not be seen through the fabric of leggings, Randolph insists matter-of-factly. And white leggings – “Lord, Jesus” – are “a big no-no.”
Randolph’s biggest takeaway is this:
“Make sure your tail is covered.”
