Argan oil combats damage
Josie Maran Argan Hot Oil Self Heating Hair Treatment from Josie Maran Cosmetics puts the hot in hot oil. In just 60 seconds after applying one ampule to wet hair, the oil warms itself to the ideal temperature and penetrates hair strands to help combat damage from repeated exposure to heat styling tools. Use weekly for one to three minutes to help seal in moisture and fight frizz. It costs $36 for five ampules at Sephora stores and Sephora.com.
Bronzing goes compact
Get perfectly bronzed summer skin with Clinique's Superbalanced Powder Bronzer. With the turn of a compact "shaver" the compressed powder is released as a loose powder. Just the right amount of powder is dispensed to provide a natural look. It comes in a mini, floral-patterned limited edition makeup pouch. Available for $34.50 at Clinique counters.
A celebrity-like serum
Kate Somerville, paramedical esthetician to the stars, expands her 8-year-old skin care collection with several new products. CytoCell 299 Oil Free Anti-Wrinkle Serum (pictured, $95 at Nordstrom) uses Somerville's exclusive stem cell technology to target wrinkles and other problems of aging skin. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid and Marine Algae extracts. Somerville, who believes a great serum is the key to healthy skin, also introduces KateCeuticals Restore8 Replenishing Serum ($165 at Neiman Marcus in August), which is like a daily multi-vitamin for aging skin. Also to come in August, the Nourish Body Perfection Body Rescue Cream ($45) moisturizes and diminishes signs of aging from the neck down.
