Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter will discuss the Carter Center's work and answer questions during the popular "A Conversation with the Carters."

The annual event will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Carter Center, 453 Freedom Parkway.

The first Conversations at the Carter Center, comes just weeks after Carter, 90, disclosed that he had cancer that had spread to his brain. He is undergoing treatment in Atlanta for the disease.

The next “Conversations” in the series - “Syria: In Search of Solutions” - will be held Oct. 13. That event is free and will also be live streamed.

During a recent press conference, the 39th president said he and his wife would dramatically scale back their work at the center, which was founded in 1982.

The Carter Center has helped improve lives of people in more than 80 nations, campaigning for everything from eliminating diseases to ensuring free and fair elections and fighting for the rights of girls and women, with Carter often showing up himself.

Tickets are sold out, but the event will be available live stream on www.carter.center.org.
