Less than a week after the homegoing service for the Rev. Cameron Madison Alexander, his family and members of Antioch Baptist Church North are reeling from another death.

Barbara  J. Alexander, the wife of the influential pastor of Antioch, has died at 85, according to the family.

She died on Wednesday, 10 days after her husband of 64 years passed.

For decades, Barbara Alexander ran a successful business, the Barbara J. Alexander Real Estate Company.

“As we finalize and prepare to announce the details of the celebration of life for our beloved “Mrs. A”, please continue to lift both the Alexander family and our church family in prayer during this most difficult time,” the church said on its website .

The family’s been hit with other close losses in recent years.

In 2018, the Alexanders lost a son, Gregory. A granddaughter, Kathleen Alexander, died September 2017.

Pastor Alexander would have celebrated five decades in the pulpit at the historic church this year.
