Kids can't have all the fun. After all, adults also need to release energy and occasionally act, well, like kids again. These Atlanta area attractions allow adults to explore their playful, youthful side.

Climb

Now that you're an adult, you can go higher than the kids at your favorite treetop adventure courses. Tree Top Quest in Buford and Dunwoody offers sky-high fun with environmental sustainability in mind, and Callaway Gardens offers a multistory agility challenge with its Treetop Adventure course.

Historic Banning Mills takes the idea of a ropes course to the extreme with its Aerial Adventure Challenge Park, which features 12 elements up to 80 feet in the air.

If you take the kids with you, Stone Mountain Park's SkyHike offers a family-friendly experience that will satisfy children and adults alike.

Jump

Nothing in Atlanta measures up to the fun of climbing 100 feet, then descending to Banning Mills' Power Free Fall.

Race

Andretti Indoor Karting & Games just opened a second location in Marietta, and now both locations are waiting for you to begin your race. Recently opened K1 Speed in Duluth offers all-electric indoor go-karts that can achieve speeds up to 45 mph.

Prefer to be outside? Malibu Grand Prix in Norcross has a track with banked curves, straightaways and turns that are not just meant for kids. When you're finished racing, head over to one of the area's only public batting cages.

Ride

Take to the waves with an experience at Terminus Wake Park, just north of Acworth. Terminus offers wakeboarding for all levels throughout the year.

Soar

The world's longest zip line is right here in Georgia at Historic Banning Mills. It's part of more than 10 miles of zip lines that allow you to soar through the canopy at up to 60 mph. As part of its rope course, Tree Top Quest's location offers zip lines as does Callaway Gardens.

At Lake Lanier, you can choose from a variety of zip line tours, including Lake Lanier Canopy Tours' Haunted Zip Line Tour and Moon Light Zip Line Tour, which take you around Lake Lanier Islands Resort and next to Lake Lanier.

Go a little farther out of town and soar through the skies of north Georgia on a canopy course with Zipline Canopy Tours of Blue Ridge or The Blue Ridge Canopy Adventure.

Ascend

Nine climbing lanes, two rappel walls and four overhangs await you at Banning Mills. It's part of the world's tallest freestanding climbing wall as certified by Guinness World Records.

When you take the kids to The Rock Ranch, you can race the youngsters on a rock wall.

Tag

You're it! Head to Main Event in Alpharetta, where you can play laser tag night or day in a black-light, fog-filled adventure space.

Next to The Avenue Peachtree City, you'll find Urban Jungle Entertainment, a multilevel, 4,600-square-foot area where you can battle your friends during multiple games of laser tag.

In Roswell, you'll find War Games Tactical Laser Tag, which offers a completely different laser tag experience and warlike scenario.
