The ooeyest, gooiest and sweetest holiday of the month — National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day — is nearly here. And you can celebrate with a free chocolate chip cookie.

National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day is Wednesday, Aug. 4 and Tiff’s Treats is celebrating by giving away a tasty treat to customers.

“It was a batch of warm chocolate chip cookies that inspired Leon and I to start this business 22 years ago as college sophomores,” said Tiffany Chen, Tiff’s Treats co-founder, in a press release. “We love to celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day and we’re excited to treat our fans to a free warm cookie in-store all day.”

Tiff’s Treats is based in Texas but there are 65 locations nationwide, including seven in Atlanta. Guests can stop at any location and receive a free warm cookie. There’s a limit of one per customer and you must be present to get it.

The shop isn’t stopping there in their chocolate chip cookie celebration. Tiff’s Treats is sharing a code on social media for 100 free cookies posted every day of the week through Sunday, Aug. 8. The first 100 followers to redeem the code on the official app each day will get a dozen free cookies. Delivery fees may apply, however.

Tiff’s Treats began in 1999 after Tiffany Taylor accidentally stood up Leon Chen on a date. She baked him a warm batch of cookies and the business launched in 1999.

Since then, the business has baked over 200 million cookies. Several of those cookies have come from metro Atlanta. In 2016, the Austin, Texas-based shop opened its first store in Alpharetta at 3665 Old Milton Parkway. It has since expanded to Midtown, Decatur, Perimeter, Cumberland, Peachtree Corners and Buckhead.
