“Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star Erica Mena has been booted from the MTV reality show after she insulted a Black woman by calling her a monkey.

The official “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” social media account made the announcement Saturday.

“The ‘Love & Hip Hop’ franchise has never shied away from hard conversations in our community,” the show said to its 2.9 million followers on Instagram. “Working hand-in-hand with our partners, viewers will see the impact of Erica Mena’s remakes play out in the final three episodes of the season. Effective immediately, she will not appear in the next season of ‘Love & Hip Hip: Atlanta.”

In a recent episode that aired on MTV, Erica was arguing with a costar Spice, who said Erica’s son did not love her. This sent Erica in a rage and she flipped a table and called Spice a monkey. Spice is Black. Erica is Afro-Latina who is of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent.

Mena first showed up season 7 in 2018 when it was on VH1 and was a full-time cast member seasons 7, 10 and the current 11th version. She had reduced roles seasons 8 and 9. She has also been a cast member on sister show “Love & Hip Hop: New York” on and off going back to 2011.

She is an actress who has appeared in Tubi movies like “The Stepmother 2″ and “The Assistant.’

Mena was arrested August 25 after getting involved in a brawl at an Atlanta nightclub, according to TMZ.
