Atlanta staple King of Pops has been plowing ahead operating two locations at Ponce City Market for the past several weeks. Now, they’re in the mood to celebrate.
The popsicle stand is offering buy one, get one pops every Tuesday in May.
“Our team has been hard at work opening our beautiful new indoor space at (Ponce City Market), and it feels like great timing. There are glimmers of light at the end of this tunnel (260M vaccines administered so far!), and we can finally move towards being more social (and less distanced) again. Let’s celebrate!” the bar posted on Facebook Tuesday.
Every Tuesday this month, patrons who show their COVID-19 vaccination record card that states they’ve received their first or second dose will get a buy one, get one popsicle at both Ponce City Market King of Pops bars. They can get them indoors and outdoors at the Beach Bar. Only one BOGO discount will be offered per household and it’s only valid for pops.
The new indoor pops bar is in the central food hall below the spiral staircase leading to the Beltline.
This isn’t the first indoor location the frozen treat spot has held.
What Now Atlanta reported it moved to the larger space from a less prominent one. King of Pops co-founder and CEO Steven Carse described the new space as “next level.”
The space also offers more than just the bar’s classic pops. Guests can purchase slushies, soft-serve ice cream and smaller ice pops without added sugar called Prince of Pops.
King of Pops, which also sells boozy slushies and cocktail pops called “poptails,” launched in 2010.
“It’s really all about flavors. We started with amazing pops, and we’ve turned some of them into amazing cocktails,” the Facebook page’s about section said.
The bar has made over 500 flavors in the last several years and all were crafted with simple ingredients. South-inspired flavors including Banana Puddin’, Peach, Blackberry Ginger Lemonade and Chocolate Sea Salt are among their most popular options.
