Two years after losing their unborn son halfway through the pregnancy, Chrissy Teigen announced on Instagram that “joy has filled our home and hearts again.”

Both Teigen and husband John Legend posted Instagram announcements Wednesday letting fans know they are expecting another baby.

While Legend captioned his post with five hearts (perhaps because they’ll be a family of five?), Teigen shared the emotional roller coaster she’s been on since losing the baby they had named Jack.

“Every appointment I’ve said to myself, “ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce” but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still,” she said. “I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!”

Teigen has never shied away from posting personal aspects of her life, including the emotional October 2020 announcement that she experienced excessive bleeding leading up to the loss of her unborn Jack.

Teigen and Legend have two children already: Luna is 6 and Miles is 4.
