Don't want to drive too far from North Fulton to celebrate the holiday? No worries—there are plenty of places to see fireworks or celebrate the Fourth of July nearby.

Get a head start to the holiday at the Concourse Corporate Center Lawn for fireworks and live music right above the King and Queen buildings. Fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m.

2. Fourth of July at Wills Park. Starts at 6 p.m. July 4. Free. Wills Park. 11925 Wills Road, Alpharetta. 678-297-6132; alpharetta.ga.us

Head to Wills Park in Alpharetta for an evening of entertainment for both adults and children alike. From 6-9 p.m. on the lawn and field behind the Alpharetta Community Center, there will be face painting, inflatables and fireworks at dusk.

Food vendors throughout Wills Park will also serve a variety of festive fare like hamburgers, hot dogs, Meditterranean dishes, snow balls and much more from 6-10 p.m. Don your red, white and blue glow, enjoy the live music and relax in your lawn chair while watching the spectacular fireworks show.

3. Annual 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza. Starts at 5:30 p.m. July 4. Free. Sweetapple Elementary. 12025 Etris Road, Roswell. roswellgov.com

The fireworks extravaganza begins at dark, but swing by for carnival activities, food and live music by Last Call Band and Banks and Shane.

4. BBQ and Bluegrass at Barrington. 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. July 4. Free. Barrington Hall. 535 Barrington Drive, Roswell.  roswellgov.com.

There's no better way to celebrate Independence Day than with barbecue and bluegrass. This event, now in its second year, has roots in the 1800s when the King family that built Barrington Hall hosted a barbecue for their neighbors and friends. In 2015, Barrington Hall staff decided to revive the tradition. Sip on beers, dance along to live music and purchase desserts for sale from the Mill Kitchen Restaurant and Bar while the kids entertain themselves in the children's area with games.

For the holiday, Matilda's in Alpharetta is inviting music fans to enjoy the music of Farewell Angelina, an all-female country quartet from Nashville, Tennessee. According to the venue's website, their sound "may remind you of the Dixie Chicks and Little Big Town, with a hefty dose of The Eagles' vocal chemistry."
