Alpharetta

Atlanta Eats LIVE | p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 24
Verizon Wireless Amphitheater at Encore Park, 2200 Encore Parkway, Alpharetta

Atlanta Eats LIVE means LIVE music, LIVE cooking demos, and LIVE rock star chefs. Attendees will eat and drink from 40 handpicked restaurants and enjoy great live and local music. Our favorite restaurants will serve amazing food as bands play on stage. The event will benefit the restaurant community, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Giving Kitchen charity.

House on Horror Hill | 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays in October
11950 Alpharetta Highway, Alpharetta

Georgia's longest running haunted house opens Oct. 1 and will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday through Halloween. Tickets go on sale at 7 p.m. Doors open at dark.

Andrew Black's Haunted Halloween Blues Party | 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Oct. 31
The Velvet Note, 4075 Old Milton Parkway, Alpharetta

Go ahead and don your scariest costume. This is a party (and after party) that will make you howl. Arriving on the blues scene in Atlanta in 1999, Andrew Black earned instant recognition with his release of the Luther Allison blues song "Cherry Red Wine." This Journeyman Blues player just returned from The UK, and he's ready to perform at The Velvet Note.

Spooky Mill | 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 23-24
Autrey Mill Nature Preserve, 9770 Autrey Mill Road, Johns Creek

Enjoy two evenings of family Halloween fun with trick-or-treating in the Heritage Village, a haunted house, games and more. Entry is free, and you can purchase tickets for activities and food. The preschool version of events runs from 10 a.m. to noon.

Crabapple Fest | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 3

Crabapple Fest once again will see the city of Milton and nonprofit Crabapple Community Association join forces to put on a massive fall festival. This year's festival will include nearly 100 antique vendors, local juried artists and merchants from across the Southeast. You also can't miss the 8-foot LED game day screen featuring SEC college football, a variety of children's rides, a slew of games, and great local food and drinks from Kona Ice, Cans, GC BBQ, Olde Blind Dog's Food Truck, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Happy Belly, Snap Franks, Milton's and MUGS.

Roswell Ghost Tour | 8 p.m. Tours scheduled daily

Come experience the charm and mystery of the deep South through ghost stories. Learn about Roswell's rich history -- and the spirits residing behind the walls of antebellum mansions that Gen. William Sherman never burned. Deep ravines hold secrets of exiled mill workers whose moans can still be heard.

Halloween Hikes | 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 23-24 and Oct. 30
Chattahoochee Nature Center, Willeo Road, Roswell

If you are searching for a unique Halloween adventure, take a well-lit hike through the forest to meet woodland creatures and hear about their lives. It's the perfect nonscary alternative to traditional Halloween events. Experience the mystery of a guided night hike. A guide will lead each group of 20 to 25 people on a lighted trail. Meet costumed characters including everyone's favorites, the Box Turtle and Dragonfly during the roughly 45-minute hike.

The Mayor's 32nd annual BBQ Ball | 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 17
10850 Stroup Road, Roswell

A slight chill is in the air, which means the Mayor's 32nd annual BBQ Ball is just around the corner. Mayor Jere Wood invites friends and neighbors to come out for a fun-filled evening to benefit the Roswell Woman's Club. Comfortable attire is a must, and don't forget your dancing shoes so you can groove to great live music provided by Chris Roberts and "The Relix." A friendly BBQ taste-off and best side dish competition will kick up the spirit of this event as well as good libations by Gate City Brewing Co., Roswell's own brewery.

Sandy Springs Under 40 -- Fall "Brew Tasting" | 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 13

Join the Sandy Springs Young Professionals for a brew tasting at 5 Seasons Brewing, a locally owned brewery passionate about making great food and brewing delicious beer in a fun, welcoming environment. Sample five to six beers and taste three to four bites paired with the beers. ID required.
