What you will see are hot rods, rat rods, pickup trucks, boats, lawn mowers and basically anything with a motor.
Last year, this was one of the largest automotive festivals in the country, and this year organizers expect it to be even bigger. There will be more than 1,100 classic, collector and show car participants and nearly $20,000 awarded in cash and prizes.
“We had a tremendous response at last year’s first-ever Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama,” said Ed Clark, Atlanta Motor Speedway president and general manager. “(We’ve) been hard at work to put on an even bigger and better show in 2015, and we’re looking forward to another can’t-miss event for motoring enthusiasts in Georgia and across the region.”
Participants can enter their vehicles into divisions like “Best Ragtop” or “Best Classic Chevy.” There are dozens of categories, and winners will be determined by Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama staff, industry experts, media and other VIPs.
Along with the car show, there will be National Lawn Mower Racing Series races, Autocross competitions, burnout contests, an auto parts flea market, 12 different Bigfoot monster trucks and a bike show complete with live music.
Anniversary celebrations taking place include the 40th year of Bigfoot, the 75th anniversary of the 1940 Ford and the 60th anniversary of the 1955 Chevy.
