Though the score is the only outcome of the football game that matters, most Georgia fans would argue that tailgating beforehand is a vital part of the fan experience.

While many will offer you a drink and invite you to a game of corn hole for simply sporting red and black, here are a few places where you can set up around Athens before a Georgia Bulldogs game.

1. Myers Quad (South Campus)

Whenever ESPN's College Gameday or the SEC Network's SEC Nation comes to University of Georgia, the crew always sets up on Myers Quad. That's because the wide-open green space in close proximity to the stadium allows for a wide variety of tailgating activities, including games and grilling. Be sure to set up early, but not before 7 a.m., because large as it is, the area fills up quickly.

2. Greek Circle (East Campus)

If you were a member of a Greek organization, take a trip back to your old house where active brothers are sure to be cooking and tossing a football back and forth before the game. The East gate is a close walk you can take with your old pledge brothers while reminiscing on former college days. Many fraternities also offer parking as part of a season deal.

3. Herty Field (North Campus)

While restrictions have been placed on tailgating in North Campus, including the prohibition of grills and amplified music, the historic beauty of Herty Field more than makes up for it. Walk over to the Chapel Bell and to give it a pre-game ring for good luck. Herty Field is also in walking distance of downtown Athens. If your tailgate party fizzles, head over to Magnolia's Bar for some pre-game cocktails.

4. Legion Field (Central Campus)

Located near the Hill community dormitories across from the Tate Student Center, Legion Field makes for one of the most convenient tailgate spots on campus. Available parking in front of the lot adds to an easy set up and take down of equipment and supplies. Plus, the trees and tall buildings help shade some of the sweltering sun.

5. Corporate Gameday (Off Campus)

The owners of this group literally make tailgating their business. With food, parking and entertainment packaged together, all you have to worry about it showing up and having a good time. The site is located on Lumpkin Street across from the UGA tracks and is easily walked toward the stadium.
