Located throughout a 146-acre nature preserve, you'll find more than 3 miles of picturesque hiking trails that wind through wetlands, forests and ponds at the W. H. Reynolds Nature Preserve in Morrow. As you hike, you will get a chance to visit the highest point in Clayton County and view 19th century outbuildings and farm equipment as you walk (or run) by. After your hike, make sure to visit the Reynolds Nature Center, where you can see habitat displays and visit wildlife up close.

In cooperation with The PATH Foundation and KAIZEN Collaborative, Clayton County continues to develop over 112 miles of trails and pathways throughout the county including the Jester's Creek Trail project. These trails will eventually connect the local parks, neighborhoods, schools and businesses to make commuting via walking or biking a reality, and to improve the health of the community by providing outdoor recreation opportunities that everyone can take part in.

Along with beautiful walking trails that will give you the outdoor workout you need in a park-like setting, Independence Park in Jonesboro also offers lighted tennis courts, a playground, covered picnic tables and sports fields. Since many sporting events take place at Independence Park, you can take your kiddos to practice then get in your walking workout in without even leaving the park.

Situated on a 32-acre wetland preserve, the half-mile wetlands trail at the Newman Wetlands Center offers visitors a chance to take in all the natural beauty surrounding this flat, easily walkable trail. If you're looking for something a bit more rugged, try taking off on one of the two primitive paths that loop off of the main trail. After your walk, visit The Wetlands Center to take part in educational workshops and see a few nature exhibits.

For a spectacular day of outdoor fun, visit the Clayton County International Park in Jonesboro. With both natural and paved biking and hiking trails, there's a little something for every fitness level.
