LAWRENCEVILLE
Street Survival
Being a new driver can mean newfound freedom, but it also means responsibility. On Oct. 18, Street Survival is holding a traffic school to help young drivers ages 15-21 learn the realities of the road. The day starts with classroom instruction but soon gets students onto a closed course, where they can learn firsthand how to handle difficult situations. Students can use their own vehicles to better understand exactly how their cars respond in an emergency. The course also works on developing skills such as managing traffic hazards and emergency braking. Participants must be licensed or have a permit to drive.
8 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 18. $75. Gwinnett County Fairgrounds, 2405 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville. 864-438-2060, streetsurvival.org.
