“The Last Punisher” book signing
Kevin Lacz knows what it means to be in the thick of the fight. He served with SEAL Team 3 as a sniper, breacher and medic during his two tours in Iraq. He knows so much about what combat looks like that Clint Eastwood hired him to be the technical adviser for “American Sniper,” in which Lacz also had the chance to play himself on the big screen. Railroad Rendezvous
Thinking of railroads conjures images of smoking engines, churning wheels and the screeching of steel on steel. What you might not think of are the people who make it all possible. The Southern Museum’s Railroad Rendezvous invites you to learn more about the conductors, “gandy dancers,” porters and others who make the trains run on time. Model train layouts, a full-scale replica of a locomotive factory and live music will all be at the event as well. Anyone who wants to climb aboard the General, the locomotive made famous by the Great Locomotive Chase, can do so for an additional $5.

“Urinetown: The Musical”
Take a little satire, stir in a dash of musical and top it off with local talent for a real treat! The Marcus Jewish Community Center presents “Urinetown: The Musical” for one weekend only. The show centers around a town plagued by a 20-year water shortage that has banned the use of private toilets. However, one of the townsfolk has had enough and decides it’s time for a change. The somewhat edgy topic makes this show suitable for ages 13 and older.
