The first season will debut in late summer, according to the report, and will be six hourlong episodes — same as the original series. The second season will be shown in 2016.

According to the report, the prequel is set in Los Angeles “at the onset of the zombie outbreak.”
AMC confirmed it would be set in Los Angeles and said the prequel would focus on “new characters and storylines.”
