With the nostalgia that has been promoted over the past few months, the show began with the original introduction, which then flashed forward 29 years later, with a new, updated version of the intro song, but this time sung by Carly Rae Jepsen.

Now it's oldest sister DJ Tanner, left alone after the death of her firefighter husband, raising her three sons. This time, it's younger sister Stephanie, who is now known worldwide as disc jockey "DJ Tanner," and annoying next door neighbor Kimmy Gibbler and her daughter, who move in to help DJ raise her family.

The cast wasn't the only thing that was the same as the original. There were plenty of nods to the hit ABC show that ran from 1987 until 1995 from the hugs to the phrases ("cut it out" and "have mercy" just to name a few), lend to a feeling of comfort and cornyness that the original show was known for.

The only thing, or person, missing was Michelle, the youngest of the original Tanner clan.  Her absence was felt and was dealt with early, explaining that she was in New York working on her fashion empire.

And as some have been waiting to relive their childhood TV show, professional critics are panning the show.

Variety has called it "self-obsessed."

While The Associated Press said that the show will be loved by die-hard fans of "Full House," others may not want to give "Fuller House" a try.
