Party on! And on and on …

Who knows if Wayne and Garth even know what year it is (doubtful). But we’re pretty sure they’re still down there in Wayne’s parents’ basement broadcasting their, um, insightful public access TV show. “Wayne’s World” first showed up on “Saturday Night Live” during the 1988-89 season, then really hit the big time when a big screen version was released in 1992.

Now to mark its whoda-thunk-it 25th anniversary, the movie’s coming back to select theaters next week. Some two dozen are in Georgia, including 17 in and around metro Atlanta.

Wayne’s World it’s party time excellent! Wayne’s World it’s party time excellent!

… um, sorry, where were we? Oh right, next week's screenings. They'll take place either on Tuesday, Feb. 7 or Wednesday, Feb. 8 (see below for specific theater's dates or check a complete nationwide listing here), with Rolling Stone movie critic Peter Travers introducing the classic flick starring Mike Myers as Wayne and Dana Carvey as his best shaggy-haired bud Garth. Afterwards, the movie's director, director Penelope Spheeris will lead an onscreen discussion with members of the cast Tia Carrere, Robert Patrick, and Colleen Camp; there'll also be special footage of Myers, Carvey, and co-star Rob Lowe discussing the movie's making and legacy along with SNL mastermind Lorne Michaels.

The following area theaters are taking part. Feb. 7: Atlantic Station Stadium 18, Atlanta; Regal Avalon 12, Alpharetta; Mall Of Georgia Stadium 20, Buford; Regal Hollywood Stadium 24, Chamblee; Regal Arbor Place Stadium 16, Douglasville; Cinemark Tinseltown 17, Fayetteville; Medlock Crossing Stadium 18, Johns Creek; Regal McDonough Stadium 16, McDonough.
