Reports: Ben E King has died

The R&B singer who performed the hit "Stand By Me"

The BBC is reporting that Ben E King died April 30.

King started his career with The Drifters with songs like "There Goes My Baby" and "Save the Last Dance for Me."

King then went solo with songs like the 1961 hit "Stand By Me."

King was 76 years old.
