A new petition is calling for Carmen Carrera to become Victoria's Secret's first-ever transgender model.
Just by this video, odds are you wouldn't know Carmen Carrera was once biologically male. She was born Christopher Roman, and first shot to fame on season three of Logo's "RuPaul's Drag Race." (Via W Magazine)
Carrera placed fifth on the show, transitioned to become a woman, and was soon signed by Elite Model Management. Now, the model's fans want her posing for Victoria's Secret.
A petition on Change.org calling for Carrera had garnered more than 30,000 signatures at press time.
On her Facebook page, Carrera wrote a thank you to fans who started the petition and has been posting coverage about it.
No response from Victoria's Secret yet, but with the company's annual fashion show scheduled for November 13th, there isn't much time left.
It will feature familiar faces like the Victoria's Secret Angels, and the company's annual Fantasy Bra — this year worth $10 million.
The show has helped launch numerous supermodels' careers. It airs December 10th on CBS.
