Options for ordering your Thanksgiving dinner

For some, Thanksgiving is the Super Bowl of cooking — a day to pull out all the stops and highlight your culinary prowess.

But, for others, it’s a balancing act of preparation, oven timing and guest entertainment.

To alleviate some of the big-meal stress, we’ve rounded up a few Thanksgiving ordering options from restaurants, covering everything from the turkey to the sides.

Alon’s

Alon’s offers a wide variety of options for pickup, including main dishes, sides and desserts. The classic turkey feast includes an apple-glazed roasted turkey, choice of sauce or relish, a soup, mixed green salad, choice of dressing, roasted garlic mashed potatoes and collard greens. Prices for the feast range from $139.99 for breast meat for four people to $264.99 for eight people. For larger parties, a whole turkey feeds 10 to 12 people and costs $389.99. Make a full meal with a 12-pound seasoned, smoked turkey, mashed potatoes, cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, sweet potato soufflé, cranberry relish and turkey gravy for $174.99. Choose either a whole ham or whole turkey slow-cooked in a smoker for up to five hours. Turkeys are 12 to 14 pounds and cost $60; hams are 8 to 10 pounds and cost $50. Milton’s offers apple-brined, smoked turkeys. For $75, your 12- to 14-pound bird comes with Madeira gravy and sage-corn spoonbread. Additional sides are available for purchase upon request.

The Mercantile

The Mercantile’s 10- to 14-pound whole roasted or smoked turkeys are $69.99. Eden Farms Berkshire ham is also available for $8.39 per pound. A family package serving up to six people is $139 and a package serving up to 10 people is $179. Both include roasted turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing and two sides. For those celebrating solo, individually portioned meals are available that include the above sides and boneless turkey meat for $24.99.

The forward-thinking six-course menu straddles the line between modern and traditional, with pumpkin-coconut soup, mixed greens, oven-roasted turkey with mango coulis, and choice of two sides such as seared garlic haricots verts with tobacco onion rings or smashed sweet potatoes with Grand Marnier. For dessert, choose from pumpkin, blueberry, apple crumble or peach crumble pies. Complete meals are available for $134 for four people, $250 for eight people or $375 for 12 people.

The Pig & the Pearl

Order a 12- to 14-pound whole smoked turkey and gravy for $65. Sides, which serve four to six people, are extra and include cranberry sauce, Edna Lewis cornbread, cheddar mac and cheese, North Carolina vinegar slaw, cornbread stuffing, collard greens and smoked sweet potatoes. All orders can be placed by filling out the form at the website and come with instructions for reheating.
