When you're looking for an exciting night out on the town, you don't need to go all the way into Atlanta to find it.
Right in your own backyard you'll find Crogan Street, a happening little place in downtown Lawrenceville that could quite possibly be the most up-and-coming hot spot outside of the city.
Here's why:
Free movies on the lawn
Adjoining Crogan Street, people all around the community gather together on the second Friday of every month for Movies on the Lawn. It all takes place on the Lawrenceville Lawn, the city's fantastic new green space that offers plenty of room to watch movies under the stars with your special someone. All you need is your blanket -- concessions and food trucks will offer delicious fare on site. Previously featured films include "Back to the Future," "Jurrasic World" and "Grease."
Fantastic restaurants for every taste
You don't have to look very far on Crogan Street for a great place to have dinner. If you have a taste for Mexican food, try La Cazuela, which not only offers a fantastic array of South-of-the-Border dishes, but also features live entertainment, a full-service bar and outdoor patio seating. If the catch of the day seems more like your thing, stop off at Oyster Bay Seafood Cafe for the best fresh oysters in town and just about every type of seafood you could wish for, from fish and shrimp to calamari.

Hip pubs abound
Don't worry about ending up at some small town dive bar during an evening out on Crogan Street. Gastropubs like The Local Republic offer craft beer, fine wine and locally-sourced food all in a casual, hip environment that will make you feel really connected to this emerging community. If beer is your thing, bring your growler down to Exhibit A(le) where you can select from over 30 draft brews on tap.
Crogan Street has a sweet tooth
Sometimes you just need a little sweetness in your life. If this sounds like you, Crogan Street has you covered. You'll feel like Hansel and Gretel with the Sweet Tooth Ice Cream Cafe, which offers a wide selection of ice cream, Italian ice, sherbet and sundaes, or save room for candy shops like Nancy's Candy and Spice, where you can sample chocolate and candy-covered almonds, dried fruits and seasonal sweet treats.
Listen to live music
On the first Friday of the month from June through December, hang out around the Historic Lawrenceville Square for Lawrenceville Live. While you enjoy meandering around listening to live music, you'll also get a chance to check out some of the local businesses in downtown Lawrenceville, see a showcase of art galleries and mingle with the rest of your community.
