Netflix users may soon be able to binge watch TV shows and movies without the need for an internet connection.
CNBC reported that Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos, said a feature is being looked into for offline viewing Netflix options.
For now, the feature only applies to some countries outside of the U.S.
"Now as we've launched in more territories … They all have different levels of broadband speeds and Wi-Fi access. So in those countries they have adapted their behaviors to be much more of a downloading culture," Sarandos said. "So in those emerging territories it starts to become a little more interesting. We still think for the developed world our thesis has been true but I think as we get into more and more (of the) undeveloped world and developing countries that we want to find alternatives for people to use Netflix easily."
As for when the feature will show up on Netflix, Sarandos was not specific.
"(We're) looking at it now, so we'll see when," he said.
Netflix competitor Amazon Prime Instant Video already offers offline viewing for its customers.
