Chattahoochee Hills was announced late Wednesday night as the site for an upcoming electronic dance music festival that is the offshoot of one of Europe’s largest music festivals.
The three-day "TomorrowWorld" festival is expected to draw as many as 150,000 music fans to the Bouckaert Farm along the Chattahoochee River in south Fulton County Sept. 27-29. The announcement was made Wednesday in an elaborate ceremony in Miami that included men and women dressed in magical costumes and a fireworks display.
TomorrowWorld tickets, which start at just under $400 for the three days, will go on sale in late April.
TomorrowWorld is an expansion of the annual “Tomorrowland” festival held each summer outside Antwerp, Belgium.
All 180,000 tickets for this July’s Tomorrowland festival sold out in seconds, with tickets being purchased by electronic dance music fans from 214 countries.
Tomorrowland co-owner Michiel Beers said organizers immediately felt at home in the Georgia venue, which happens to be owned by a Belgian.
In addition to stages and dancing, TomorrowWorld festival goers will have the opportunity to camp out in tents overnight in an area called “Dreamville.”
The lineup of artists for TomorrowWorld will be announced beginning next month.
The Bouckaert Farm west of Fairburn has been the site of other music festivals in the past.
In 2007, the farm hosted The Echo Project, and last September, the CounterPoint festival was held on the 8,000-acre farm of carpet magnate Carl Bouckaert.
