According to police, two people were shot at Label at the North Carolina Music Factory.
Medic said one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police said the second victim transported his or her self to the hospital.
Both victims have non-life-threatening injuries.
The shooting happened during a CIAA party around 7 p.m. Social media posts from those attending the party show chaos as shots were fired.
Rappers T.I., Yo Gotti and Young Jeezy were scheduled to perform as part of a celebration for a basketball tournament, according to TMZ. None of the rappers were injured.
Police said preliminary information and evidence gathered on the scene indicates an unidentified suspect fired several shots from inside the club, striking the two victims.
A party hosted by rap mogul Diddy was planned for the venue Saturday night.
According to Label’s website, P-Diddy was supposed to be at the venue Saturday night. Doors were scheduled to open at 9 p.m.
Label released a statement Saturday night, saying:
"Please be advised that an incident occurred this evening at Label following an event. The exact circumstances concerning the incident have yet to be determined. Officials at Label are cooperating with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department concerning their investigation of this matter. Tonight's events at Label will take place as scheduled. It should be noted that there will continue to be very substantial security for all Label events during tournament weekend. And, Label remains fully committed to the safety and security of its patrons."
There was a shooting in 2014 at an event publicized as a star-studded CIAA after party.
Police said two people were shot during the party. Police said a fight was the cause.
CIAA officials stressed the incident was in no way related to the tournament, but rather a private party.
There was also a shooting in the parking lot of Label in 2013.
