So what inspired the reunion?

Well, Steven Tyler feels as if he deserves some credit. The Aerosmith frontman told Howard Stern he met Rose while out a few times and told him why it's important for the band to reunite. The reasons were simple: People miss them and the window of opportunity to pull off and enjoy a reunion is finite.

Comedian Andrew Dice Clay says he played a part too, according to Blabbermouth. Slash's infamous happy birthday tweet to Axl in February 2015, which has since been deleted, came about because Dice Clay told his good friend and the band's road manager, Tom Mayhew, that the guitarist needed to say something nice about the singer.

The band broke its silence on the issue Wednesday, albeit somewhat sarcastically.

In a tweet, they said, "Guns N' Roses would like to respectfully thank the many people taking credit for our upcoming shows and everything in between. Especially those whom we haven't spoken to in numerous years who, through the power of media, have somehow served a pivotal, even if non-existent role. We and the fans thank you!"
