Claiming a false DUI arrest has derailed his blossoming career as a Christian rapper, a Florida man is suing various law enforcement agencies that were involved in a December drunk-driving crackdown.

In the lawsuit filed last week in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, Eduardo Puyol claims he was arrested for driving under the influence even though a breath-alcohol test showed he had no alcohol in his system. No charge was filed against Puyol, who operates the nonprofit Soul Deep Ministries. But, attorney Jack Scarola wrote in the lawsuit, Puyol was held in the county jail overnight and his booking photo was widely published.

Fearing police would say he was under the influence of drugs, he went to a doctor after his release from jail. Tests confirmed he was drug-free, Scarola wrote.

Since his arrest, concert bookings for the rapper, whose professional name is “Rawsrvnt,” have sagged, Scarola said. Puyol is seeking an unspecified amount in damages from the Jupiter and Palm Beach Gardens police departments and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
