On what would have been his 163rd birthday, Vincent Van Gogh's paintings are getting a new life thanks to a new film.
It's called "Loving Vincent," and artists painstakingly animated 120 of Van Gogh's works for the film.
Each second of film takes 12 individual animations to tell Van Gogh's life story. That equals an approximate 56,800 paintings, Upworthy reported.
But filmmakers didn't use just his art to inspire the movie. The script is coming from 800 letters Van Gogh wrote, according to the film's Kickstarter campaign.
