If these walls could talk, they’d have about 35,000 square feet worth of fabulous stories.

Tyler Perry's Atlanta home, listed this week for $25 million, has hosted any number of A-listers over the years.

The French provincial mansion sits atop a 17-acre tract off Paces Ferry Road along the Chattahoochee River. Amenities include a gym, spa, pool, home theater, ballroom with catering kitchen, formal and informal gardens, lighted tennis court, guard house and caretakers’ suite. The “presidential-level security system” and two gated and secured residential entrances will ensure the new owners get no pesky unwanted visitors.

Chase Mizell and Josh Reeves with Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby's International Realty are handling the sale. Potential buyers must submit proof of assets, which will be verified before a visit will be scheduled.

In 2003, Perry held a private party there following the red-carpet screening of "Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor." The guest list included Kim Kardashian, who had a role in "Temptation," and Kanye West. Joining them were other stars of "Temptation" — Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Lance Gross, Ella Joyce and Renée Taylor among them — along with "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast members NeNe Leakes and Kandi Burruss.

No photos were allowed, but a few members of the press were. Atlanta media personalities including Karyn Greer, Evelyn Mims and JaQuitta Williams were among the guests that night. Other dignitaries included Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy, U.S. Rep. John Lewis and Georgia Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle.

Perry stood at the front door as guests arrived and greeted everyone personally. His home, while enormous, felt cozy and welcoming.

In almost every room, there were framed photos of Perry with famous friends including President Barack Obama, Janet Jackson and Oprah Winfrey and numerous photos of his late mother, Maxine Perry. Perry's study and two-story library are loaded with books, both handsome, leather-bound classics, copies of his own books and Bibles and inspirational books.

The sweeping terrace along the back of the house, overlooking tennis courts and pool, offers an incredible view of the Atlanta skyline. Throughout the evening, Perry played the role of genial host.

“I want to tell you guys how much I love and appreciate all your hard work,” Perry said that night. “I want to say thank you.”
