Wednesday's announcement of nominees for the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards included a number of stars with Atlanta connections, including most prominently, Jennifer Lawrence.

The past Oscar winner is up for a supporting-actress SAG award for her role in “American Hustle.” She has been here this fall filming “Mockingjay,” the third movie in the “Hunger Games” series. The sequel, “Catching Fire,” was filmed here last year.

Julia Roberts, also up for best supporting actress, for her role in "August: Osage County," hails from metro Atlanta. AMC hit "The Walking Dead," which films mostly south of Atlanta, in areas including Senoia and Grantville, is up for honors in the "Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series" category.

Other individual nominees who have filmed projects in Atlanta include Michael Douglas, Sandra Bullock, Jeff Daniels, Jason Bateman, Kerry Washington and Tina Fey.

Bittersweetly, "Fast & Furious 6" is up for an award in the "Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture" category. It didn't film here, but "Fast & Furious 5" did, and "Fast & Furious 7," now on hold, had been filming in Atlanta for months when actor Paul Walker died in a Nov. 30 car wreck.

The SAG ceremony airs at 8 p.m. Jan. 18 on Atlanta-based TNT and TBS.

Ashton Kutcher’s Atlanta stopover

After a number of celebrity media outlets posted stories, complete with photos, of Ashton Kutcher and lady friend Mila Kunis attending her brother's wedding in Florida over the weekend, we were a little surprised to hear reports of the pair popping up in Atlanta on Sunday night.

Turns out, it’s true.

After a couple of our trustiest sources happened to spy the couple, we were able to confirm that they dined at Bone Lick BBQ, at 1133 Huff Road. They sampled the brisket, pork and ribs, along with Texas toast and other side dishes, with bread pudding for dessert. Kutcher tried a local brew, Red Hare’s Farmhouse Seasonal, while Kunis indulged in hot water flavored with lemon.

While Bone Lick boasts an array of after-dinner entertainment options including Skee Ball and arcade games, Kutcher and Kunis dined and dashed.

So, what were the “’70s Show” alums doing in town? Just passing through, evidently. Kutcher’s busy Twitter feed doesn’t mention Atlanta but has featured other travel photos in recent days, including one taken just outside Chattanooga, Tenn. Looks like he saw Rock City.
