Chris Rock's #oscarssowhite jokes

The comedian is hosting the show for the second time, and with so much debate about diversity at the Oscars, viewers can expect him to poke some fun -- and maybe some truth -- at the situation. Rock told The Hollywood Reporter in December that he was considering pay inequality and superhero movies as joke subjects, but it's likely that has changed by now.

A possible win for Leonardo DiCaprio

DiCaprio stands the best chance he ever did this year for his first Oscar win for Best Actor. Despite being nominated four times in the past, the award has always eluded him. DiCaprio's role as 19th century fur trapper Hugh Glass in the art film "The Revenant" has many in the industry expecting a win.

Jennifer Lawrence having a mishap

Three time Oscar nominee and one time winner Lawrence is a contender for her role in "Joy." The semi-biographical film is about Joy Mangano, a real-life self-made millionaire who patented successful home products. Lady Gaga performing with surprise guest  Kesha

Rumors are surfacing that pop singer Kesha may join Gaga for her performance of "Til It Happens to You," since Kesha cancelled a Friday Loyola University concert and has been photographed with Gaga. The pop singer has been involved in a high profile, lengthy legal battle with her music producer over alleged sexual assault.

'The Big Short' winning Best Picture

"The Big Short" is a film adaptation of Michael Lewis' book of the same name. The movie focuses on four finance workers who take advantage of the impending credit and housing bubble collapse in 2008. Similar to DiCaprio's nomination for Best Actor, multiple predictions are already calling "The Big Short" the winner for Best Picture. But it is still possible that the Academy will surprise us and a less conventional Oscar nominee will win, like "Mad Max: Fury Road."
