LOS ANGELES - The critically lambasted Adam Sandler comedy “Grown-Ups 2” dominated the nominations for the 34th Razzie Awards on Wednesday morning, receiving eight, including worst picture, worst actor, worst supporting actor and worst director.
Johnny Depp (“The Lone Ranger”) and Naomi Watts (“Diana”) earned their first Razzie nominations for worst actor and actress, while Sylvester Stallone scored his 31st nomination for worst actor in three films: “Bullet to the Head,” “Escape Plan” and “Grudge Match.”
Besides “Grown-Ups 2,” worst picture nominations went to “After Earth,” “The Lone Ranger,” “A Madea Christmas” and “Movie 43.”
Rounding out the worst actor category are Ashton Kutcher for “Jobs” and Jaden Smith for “After Earth.”
Joining Watts for worst actress are Halle Berry for “The Call” and “Movie 43,” Selena Gomez for “Getaway,” Lindsay Lohan for “The Canyons” and Tyler Perry for “A Madea Christmas.”
Nominated for worst supporting actress are Lady Gaga for “Machete Kills,” Salma Hayek for “Grown-Ups 2,” Katherine Heigl for “The Big Wedding,” Kim Kardashian for “Tyler Perry’s Temptation” and Lindsay Lohan for “InAPPropriate Comedy” and “Scary Movie 5.”
Nominees for worst supporting actor are Chris Brown for “Battle of the Year,” Larry the Cable Guy for “A Madea Christmas,” Taylor Lautner for “Grown-Ups 2,” Will Smith for “After Earth” and Nick Swardson for “A Haunted House” and “Grown-Ups 2.”
Vying for worst director are the 13 people who directed “Movie 43,” Dennis Dugan for “Grown-Ups 2,” Tyler Perry for “A Madea Christmas” and “Temptation,” M. Night Shyamalan for “After Earth” and Gore Verbinski for “The Lone Ranger.”
Worst screen combo nominations went to the entire cast of “Grown-Ups 2,” the entire cast of “Movie 43,” Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen in “Scary Movie 5,” Tyler Perry and either Larry the Cable Guy or “that worn-out wig and dress” in “A Madea Christmas” and Jaden Smith and Will Smith on the Planet Nepotism in “After Earth.”
Worst screenplay nominations went to “After Earth,” “Grown-Ups 2,” “The Lone Ranger,” “A Madea Christmas” and “Movie 43.”
Vying for worst remake, rip-off or sequel are “Grown-Ups 2,” “The Hangover Part III,” “The Lone Ranger,” “Scary Movie 5” and “The Smurfs 2.”
The winners will be announced the day before the Academy Awards on March 1.
