FRIDAY
John Mellencamp
The feisty singer-songwriter played the Fox Theatre in early 2011, then returned to Atlanta in 2012 to open his stage musical with Stephen King, “Ghost Brothers of Darkland County,” at the Alliance Theatre. Since then, Mellencamp has released the visceral “Plain Spoken,” his 22nd studio album, recorded at his studio in Indiana. Mellencamp will stay on the road most of the year promoting it with live performances.
7:30 p.m. March 13. $39.50-$125.50. Fox Theatre, 660 Peachtree St. N.E., Atlanta. 1-855-285-8499, foxtheatre.org.
Hozier
This is the second Atlanta show this week for the "Take Me to Church" singer (Tuesday, he played a makeup date at Variety Playhouse). But don't fret if you couldn't score a ticket to either of his sold-out concerts, because the soulful Irishman returns in May for a show at Chastain; in a recent interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Hozier (rhymes with "cozier") said that he and his seven-piece band are looking forward to the live presentation of songs from the rest of his self-titled debut album.
With George Ezra. 8:30 p.m. March 13. Sold out. The Tabernacle, 152 Luckie St., Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, livenation.com.
SATURDAY
Pat Green
The Texas singer-songwriter-guitarist was quiet for a couple of years before releasing “Girls From Texas” last fall with Lyle Lovett. Expect to hear it live, along with the other dozen-plus hits from Green’s 20-year country career, including “Wave on Wave” and “Feels Just Like it Should.”
With Hudson Moore. 8:30 p.m. March 14. $24 (advance), $29 (day of show). Buckhead Theatre, 3110 Roswell Road, Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.
MONDAY
Joshua Radin
Thanks to Zach Braff, Radin's thoughtful acoustic folk-pop music was introduced to a wide audience in the mid-'00s when the actor brought Radin's music to the creator of "Scrubs." It helped break his song "Winter," and Radin's music soon populated other shows, such as "Cougar Town" and "Grey's Anatomy." In January, he released his sixth album, "Onward and Sideways." Radin is also active with the nonprofit Little Kids Rock, and a couple of years ago visited Atlanta's Jean Childs Young Middle School to share music with the students.
With Rachel Yamagata and Cary Brothers. 7:30 p.m. March 16. $26 (advance), $30 (at the door). Center Stage, 1374 W. Peachtree St., Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.
THURSDAY
Jennifer Knapp
The former contemporary Christian artist received much recognition in the late-’90s and early ’00s for her debut album “Kansas” and the Grammy-nominated follow-ups, “Lay It Down” and “The Way I Am.” Then, Knapp took an extended hiatus from music and returned in 2010 with a more mainstream folk sound. Her current album, “Set Me Free,” was recorded in Nashville and released on Ani DiFranco’s label, Righteous Babe Records.
With Sarah Peacock. 8 p.m. March 19. $18-$22 (regular reserved seating), $23-$27 (premium reserved seating). Red Clay Music Foundry, 3116 Main St., Duluth. 404-478-2749, eddieowenpresents.com/tickets.
