Although Leon is away, the show at his True Colors Theatre Company, must go on.

The production company’s season opens this weekend with David Auburn's Pulitzer Prize and Tony-award winning play “Proof.”

A young woman deals with the loss of her mentally ill father after serving as his caregiver for years. While grieving, she questions her own mental health, struggles to communicate with her sister and a love interest, and deals with the reality of being a female in a male-dominated industry.

The play brings New York-based actress Fedna Jacquet to Atlanta to portray the leading character, Catherine.

The up and coming actress didn’t get to spend much time with Leon after being cast in the play. The original actress who was cast in the role booked a movie and had to drop out. By the time Jacquet arrived in Atlanta, Leon was headed to Los Angeles to focus on “Hairspray Live.”

Still, Jacquet said she has enjoyed bonding with the show’s intimate cast and exploring Old Fourth Ward in her downtime.
