And as we all seem to take for granted the fact that most of us, at any given moment, can squat down on the floor with our children, the struggle has been real for Joey, who continues to battle the last stages of cancer.

Yet, Dec. 11 was a good day – a day when the sun was shining and their dear daughter, Indiana, was laughing, and Rory once again picked up his camera to take a picture of the moment that he never wanted to forget. In the picture, Joey is holding up a flash card with a picture of a tiger to Indiana so she can learn her animal names.

“It’s 60 and sunny outside today and even brighter inside,” the Facebook post read. “Joey’s out of bed teaching signs to Indy on the floor.”

This latest picture gives hope to all who have followed Joey's incredible story over the past year. Just last week, the beloved country duo expressed their hope that Joey will continue to feel well throughout the month of February to enjoy their album release, their daughter's birthday and what could turn into a very special Grammy telecast.
