Mahomet-Seymour High School Competitive Dance Team showed off its moves in a competition Jan. 30 and stood out by not using music.
WGN reported that the team danced to Jon Jorgenson's spoken word poem, "What Are You Afraid Of?"
The team competed in the Illinois High School Association State Competitive Dance Championship with 90 other teams across the state.
Complete with lifts, pirouettes and soaring jumps, the team competed to an eighth-place finish in class 1A of the IHSA Dance Championship.
The team previously won first place in 2015.
At the culmination of the poem and the dance, there's a dramatic outfit change.
Mahomet-Seymour senior Autumn Hodge told The Pantagraph, "The wardrobe change symbolized starting afraid and insecure to suddenly letting go of your fears."
Jorgenson himself is happy to be part of the performance.
"Thanks for letting me be a part of this team," he said in a comment on the video. "I'm honored. Keep being awesome.."
