Golden Globes hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler certainly kept their promise to deliver some jokes about embattled comedian Bill Cosby during Sunday night's show – and it was just as awkward as you'd expect.

“In ‘Into the Woods,' Cinderella runs from her prince, Rapunzel is thrown from a tower for her prince, and Sleeping Beauty just thought she was getting coffee with Bill Cosby,” Poehler said during the 2015 Golden Globes.

“You know, actually, I don’t know if, uh, I don’t know if you guys saw this on Tuesday, but Bill Cosby has finally spoken out about the allegations against him. Cosby admitted to a reporter, ‘I put the pills in the people, the people did not want the pills in them!” said Fey.

“No, Tina, that, hey, that’s not right. That’s not right. It’s more like, ‘I got the pills in my bathrobe and put them in the people!’” said Poehler.

“You’re right. It’s gotta be like, ‘I put the pills in the hoagie!’” said Fey.

"Yup that's it," said Poehler. (Video via Golden Globe Awards clips provided by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Dick Clark Productions Inc.)

Fey and Poehler’s bit definitely got a lot of laughs and even a few “oohs” from the audience. But the Cosby jabs shouldn’t have come as a surprise to anyone.

In an interview with Access Hollywood on Wednesday, Fey said she was planning on cracking a few jokes about the comedian, who has been accused of sexual assault by more than a dozen women.

"Cosby jokes?" asked a reporter for Access Hollywood.

“Oh, heck yes!” said Fey.

“Wait I missed this, what’s going on with Cosby jokes?” asked Robert Carlock.

“I’ll tell you later,” said Fey.

“OK," said Carlock.

And Cosby wasn’t the only hot topic to come under fire during Poehler and Fey’s opening monologue.

The hosts made sure to touch on the controversy surrounding North Korea's disapproval of the new flick "The Interview." (Video via Columbia Pictures / "The Interview")

“Tonight we celebrate all the great television shows that we know and love, as well as all the movies that North Korea was okay with,” said Fey.

"That's right, the biggest story in Hollywood this year was when North Korea threatened an attack if Sony Pictures released 'The Interview,' forcing us all to pretend we wanted to see it," said Poehler. (Video via Golden Globe Awards clips provided by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Dick Clark Productions Inc.)

And, of course, Poehler and Fey kept up with their tradition of roasting George Clooney, this time bringing his wife Amal Alamuddin Clooney into it.

"George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin this year. Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an adviser for Kophianon regarding Syria and was selected for a three-person UN commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza strip. So tonight, her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award. So stupid!" said Fey. (Video via Golden Globe Awards clips provided by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Dick Clark Productions Inc.)

Yes, Poehler and Fey got Clooney good, even though the actor promised to get his revenge on the hilarious hosts after they poked fun at him last year.

"It's a well-crafted joke. I can appreciate that. But, they have poked the bear with a stick," said Clooney on Access Hollywood.

Your move, Clooney.
