CUMMING
Star Wars Saturday at Cumming Library
Characters from the “Star Wars” universe come out in force for this special event. Don’t be surprised to find Darth Vader, a fleet of stormtroopers and even an intergalactic bounty hunter or two hanging out among the books. Members of the Georgia Garrison of the 501st Legion, those serious “Star Wars” fans who create screen-accurate duds, meet and greet with visitors. The library invites guests to get in on the act, too, by dressing up as the denizens of that galaxy far, far away while partaking in activities. Fan boys and girls of all ages indulge in “Star Wars” movie-themed crafts and trivia.
Noon-1:30 p.m. Oct. 26. Free. Cumming Library, 585 Dahlonega Road, Cumming. 770-781-9840, www.forsythpl.org.
ROSWELL
Crystal Bowersox at Roswell Cultural Arts Center
The 2010 “American Idol” runner-up brings her long locks and impressive pipes to the Roswell Cultural Arts Center stage as part of the LIVE! in Roswell concert series. Touring in support of her latest disc, “All That For This,” which dropped last spring and included a promotional performance on “Leno,” Bowersox continues shaking and baking her country, folk, blues and rock influences into a steaming musical pie all her own. Yet, as she crosses the country with her live shows, she’s already planning her next release and taking fan suggestions via Twitter. Anna Rose opens.
