Smyrna OysterFest 2013 at Atkins Park Restaurant & Bar

Live music, New Orleans-style grub, the crowning of a king and queen, and more Mardi Gras action stretches across five days. It begins Friday with free admission and a show by Dixie Duncan. Things crank up Saturday and Sunday, and admission includes performances by Joe Garner & Company, The Quail Dogs, Man Made, Squirrelheads and others. Monday is family friendly with music by Blue GrassRoots, New Orleans cuisine, face painting and mask decorating. Fat Tuesday features a Mask Party. Bring your own mask or buy one for $5. Beads will fly and beer will flow. Andrew Black & Friends perform at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night’s proceeds benefit Mustard Seed Communities.

5th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration at Parish Food & Goods

Things go mostly inclusive for this Mardi Gras event at Parish. Guests gorge on all-you-can-eat New Orleans-themed treats, including crawfish, pulled pork, oysters, and red beans and rice. Grown-ups score bottomless Sweetwater beer, while both kids and adults may appreciate digging into a hunk of King Cake. A cash bar will be available featuring cocktails, and the Mar-tans provide the celebratory soundtrack. Tickets booked in advance with a reservation receive a $5 discount.

New Orleans Sunday Jazz Brunch Buffet at Copeland’s of New Orleans

A live jazz group performs at this weekly meal, and this time it’s the three-piece Traci Wynn Band. Guests can choose from an array of New Orleans staples including boiled shrimp, jambalaya, etouffee and more. Omelet, prime rib and dessert stations lure hungry guests. A special Fat Tuesday event takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Feb. 12 and features the Trevor Truvill Band. A variety of crawfish dishes will be on hand, and Hurricane cocktails and Mardi Gras punch are among the libations.
