Atlanta Eats Goes Live at Verizon

Atlanta Eats, the weekly restaurant roundup TV show hosted by Steak Shapiro, will take the stage at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Alpharetta Oct. 6 for a "rockstar" program and benefit for Staplehouse and The Giving Kitchen. Atlanta chefs Kevin Rathbun and Linton Hopkins will be honored during an evening featuring food and drink from 30 Atlanta restaurants, including Hal's, Rathbun's, The Optimist, 4th & Swift and Watershed, chefs dueling in demos and karaoke contests, and live music. Atlanta Cheese Festival at Park Tavern

The inaugural Atlanta Cheese Festival sponsored by Gourmet Foods International takes off on Friday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 11 p.m. at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park. Among the evening's festivities: a Grilled Cheese Meltdown competition; a cheese market where attendees can taste samples and purchase items directly from the producers; live music from The Packway Handle Band and Moreland & Arbuckle. Taste of Atlanta Turns 12

In its 12th year, Taste of Atlanta has grown into an iconic local event. On Oct. 25, this year's festival kicks off with Atlanta's Taste Revival, a music and barbecue block party with Ron Eyester and guest chefs, including Ford Fry, Kevin Gillespie and Kevin Rathbun.
