Election Day will probably be stressful for many metro Atlanta residents.

On top of the anxiety that some might feel regarding the election, many schools will close to serve as polling places leaving parents to find things to do with their kids.

Whether you have to vote on Nov. 8, or you participated in early voting and can spend the entire day with your kids, we've come up with five things that families can do to bond and have some fun on Election Day.

A ride on Macy’s Pink Pig is a holiday tradition for many families in metro Atlanta. Visit the attraction at Lenox Mall on Election Day before the holiday crowds arrive. A ride through the life-sized storybook is $3. If your child is a huge fan, multiple rides can be purchased at a discount (2 for $5.50 or 3 for $7.50).

The ride first made its debut at Rich’s in 1953.

The Pink Pig is open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on weekdays.  If you haven't voted yet, this is a quick activity that will still give you plenty of time to do so.

The Children’s Museum of Atlanta celebrates the second Tuesday of every month in a fun way.

On the second Tuesday of this month, children and their guardians get to experience the museum for free between the hours of 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. under the Target Free Second Tuesday program.

If you’re one of the people who started playing Christmas music on Nov. 1, this early holiday gem is for you.

Center for Puppetry Arts' Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer returns on Election Day. Nothing says escapism like celebrating Christmas nearly two months early!

This production is based off the popular television special, so take your kids to the 10 a.m. or 11:45 a.m. show, before heading to lunch. Then, keep them occupied in the afternoon by watching the 1964 holiday classic at home.

Enjoy Fernbank Museum of Natural History in a new way by visiting their Wildwoods attraction. Unplug from social media and election news and head to Wildwoods, the new outdoor space that connects Fernbank’s indoor exhibits with the 65-acre Fernbank Forest.

Wildwoods features various exhibits that are geared towards kids, including Nature Stories. This exhibit is for the 8 and under crowd, and features safe, interactive ways for children to learn about things that they might encounter in a forest.

The price of admission is included in Fernbank’s general admission ($16-$18 for non-members). The museum is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekdays.

If you’ve already voted and you’re looking to escape metro Atlanta without breaking the bank, take a quick road trip to Helen!

Located in North Georgia, about 90 miles from downtown Atlanta, there are plenty of shopping and dining options, as well as outdoor activities to enjoy on this day trip. Go hiking at Smithgall Woods State Park or enjoy a game of mini golf at the Alpine Golf Village during this family-friendly day trip.

After the day of fun, your kids will be exhausted and ready to get a good night's sleep before heading back to school on Wednesday.
