Ration and Dram in Kirkwood

Ration and Dram, the new family-friendly neighborhood spot from former Holeman & Finch partner and barkeep Andy Minchow, is set to open on March 18. But according to its Facebook page, it will be BYOB with no corkage fee for at least the first week. While the liquor license is pending and fans of Minchow's cocktails are counting the days, you can still check out the multilevel Arizona Lofts space, which includes two patios and two bars. From the kitchen, look for local veggie tempura, patty melt sliders, whole roasted snapper, steak frites, and an extensive brunch menu. 130 Arizona Ave., Atlanta. 678-974-8380, rationanddram.com.

Roswell Provisions’ Le Bistro

Roswell Provisions, the Canton Street market with wine, cheese, meats, baked goods, fancy foods and an espresso bar, has added to its offerings with a new upstairs restaurant. Christened Le Bistro, the French-style menu features ladies who lunch favorites, such as salads, soups, quiche and crepes. Sandwiches ($8.50) include croque monsieur, egg salad and Patak bacon on a baguette, and French dip with house-roasted beef and horseradish cream. And rather than the classic plat du jour, ask for the weekly special plate ($14.95). 955 Canton St., Roswell. 678-682-8669, roswellprovisions.com.

Ford Fry's $1 million Superica

The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that chef Ford Fry's new restaurant, Superica, set to open in the Krog Street Market redevelopment, will cost more than $1.1 million, according to a permit filed on March 12. Fry spent around $1.5 million on the buildout for his latest hot spot, St. Cecilia, which opened in January in the former Bluepointe space in Buckhead. But Superica, which means "really good," is planned as a much more casual "Mex-Tex" concept with outdoor spaces and live music. rocketfarm.tumblr.com.
