5 places great for Dad and the kids all year long

What does Dad want for Father's Day? A giant meat pizza.

What does Dad want for Father's Day? A giant meat pizza.

While Father's Day may be a time when the family picks a place to eat that Dad loves, he is rarely the top vote when figuring out where to eat the rest of the year. When left on my own with my 3 little ones - ages 10, 8 and 4 - how do I make sure they are super happy and still satisfy the cravings of a self proclaimed "professional eater"? Easy....I find places like these that deliver a super experience for both Dad and kids equally.

Burger Joint- Grindhouse Killer Burgers
Can't go wrong with the juicy burgers, delicious fries, "adult" and kids milk shakes at this Piedmont Road staple now with multiple locations. I dig the patio at Piedmont location and the kids dig the playful Sci-Fi theme and cool robots that permeate the place.

Pizza Place- Max's Pizza
Downtown on Marietta Street may be the most underrated pizza place in the city of Atlanta. Max's pizza has tremendous coal oven pizza, killer salads and a meatball and chicken parm sub that are super crave-worthy. Kids love the vibe, the pizza and the dough they are given to play with as soon as they sit down.

Sports Pub- Marlow's Tavern
With so many neighborhood spots that understand what works for families, Marlow's is the best spot ever for after practice and games, as well as for outstanding quality food. The founder Jon Metz is a huge stickler about the food. Dads love the tuna poke and french dip sandwich, kids love the TVs everywhere and mini cheeseburgers.

Mexican- Verde
Bring on the super tasty tacos, creamy queso and perfectly made killer margaritas that take the edge off. Our family is partial to the Brookhaven location that sports multiple TVs, greatpatio and an array of top quality ingredients that will make Mom happy to know we were there.

Dress a Little Nicer Spot- Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse
Don't know that I have seen a restaurant with food this excellent and service this impeccable that cares for kids quite like Davio's does. They've got a super cool patio for Junior to scream as loud as he wants and a perfect kids menu, while Dad gets steaks and pastas so savory he will be hoping every birthday celebration ends up back here.
