The universe as we know it is ending, The Marvel Universe, that is.

Marvel Entertainment ended months of theories and announced Tuesday that the comic book empire will reboot their world this summer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It will be part of the "Secret Wars" event that the comic book world has been buzzing about for months.

Writers will be wasting no time.  The current Marvel Universe will end in the first issue of the series, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

According to Marvel's announcement, the series will run eight issues starting in May and running through December.

And this week's announcement isn't the only one concerning the changes in store for Thor, Iron Man, Spider Man and all of the other Marvel characters.  According to io9, there will be more announcements made over the next two weeks.
