"Vampire Diaries" stars Kat Graham and Nina Dobrev visited some really interesting creatures recently, stopping by the Georgia Aquarium during a December break from filming. The ladies got up close and personal with whale sharks, manta rays and other finned friends featured in the aquarium's Journey With Gentle Giants program and enjoyed splish-splashing in the 6.3 million-gallon facility.

Welcome back, Melissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy and husband Ben Falcone have both worked on separate movie projects in Georgia. She starred in "Identity Thief" with Jason Bateman while he was in "What to Expect When You're Expecting" with Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Chris Rock and others.

Now the two plan to return for a joint project. “Michelle Darnell,” which Falcone will direct, will star McCarthy as “a titan of industry (who) is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading,” according to imdb.com. “When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget.”

It has a 2016 release date and is now hiring for crew positions. Send resumes to mdarnellmovie@gmail.com.

Welcome back, Ben Affleck

Oscar-winning actor/director Ben Affleck, who spent time in Atlanta a few years ago when his wife, Jennifer Garner, was filming "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," is back for a project of his own.

“The Accountant” is about a numbers guy who cooks the books for shady clients. It’s just now getting started.

Last time they were here, Jen and Ben were seen dining at South City Kitchen Midtown and checking out fun spots like the Atlanta Botanical Garden and Woodruff Arts Center.

Welcome back, Honey Boo Boo?

While the TLC redneck reality show "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" was scrapped amid allegations that family matriarch "Mama" June Shannon was keeping time with a convicted child molester (a charge she denied, despite photos TMZ posted), fans may be interested to know of a possible reboot. Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, the oldest sister of Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, announced on her public Facebook page that she has retained a management firm and hinted at a return to television: "Maybe you will see more of me and my family," she wrote. Her new publicity firm describes itself with lots of capital letters: "GR Media is an entertainment company specializing in Celebrity Management and Public Relations. We represent Reality Stars, Artists and Top Plastic Surgeons."
