Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe will team up for "The Nice Guys," which will be set in 1970s Los Angeles and will do some filming in Atlanta.
“A private eye investigates the apparent suicide of a fading porn star in 1970s Los Angeles and uncovers a conspiracy,” is the noir-sounding plot, per imdb.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Angourie Rice and Margaret Qualley have joined the cast of the project, directed by Shane Black and produced by Joel Silver.
"The script, which Black co-wrote with Anthony Bagarozzi, tells of a private detective (Gosling) and a jaded racketeer (Crowe) who must team up to find a missing actress in the scuzzy, seedy and smoggy side of 1970s Los Angeles," HR reports.

‘Vampire Diaries,’ ‘Red Band Society,’ ‘Vacation’ stars on the town
"Vampire Diaries" star Kat Graham along with Dave Annable from the new show "Red Band Society" and Kristen Ledlow, from NBA TV, helped christen the newly renovated Montblanc store at Lenox Square last week.
The Buckhead boutique featured a peek at its new “Extreme Collection” during the glamorous event. (How does a fountain pen get to be “extreme”? Beats me. I will investigate next time I am there.)
In other news, Atlanta native Ed Helms, who's back in town filming the "Vacation" reboot, and some of his fellow cast members dined at the Spence in Midtown last week. The folks shared an assortment of dishes and graciously thanked the chef afterward.
