Holy moly, Batman! Actor Robert Pattinson, star heartthrob of the popular "Twilight" series, is reportedly set to take flight as the next caped crusader in Warner Bros.' upcoming production of "The Batman."
Although not yet finalized, Pattinson is said to be in final negotiations and the top choice of filmmaker Matt Reeves in the new superhero film, according to Variety.
Pattinson would take over for actor Ben Affleck, who played Batman in three movies: "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," "Suicide Squad" and 2017's "Justice League."
If Pattinson, 33, nabs the role, he’ll become one of the youngest actors to play Batman. Only Christian Bale was younger, taking over as the Dark Knight when he was just 31.
Reeves, who was behind the last two “Planet of the Apes” sequels, is reportedly still honing the script for “The Batman.”
Preproduction on the movie is expected to start this summer, with a tentative release date set for June of 2021.
